3D SCANNED JEANS

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

For a meetup of Platform maker Education, we organized a workshop that included a Kinect that we hacked as a 3D scanner. We used it to take measurements for making jeans. The code that was used for this project is open source and was developed by Kyle McDonald and Lisa Kori Chung. The code can be found here on github.

Images above: There where a couple of steps during the proces: step 1: taking measurements with a Kinect that we used as a 3D scanner. step 2: Transferring the measurements to another program that is able to convert this data to a custom fitted pants-pattern. Step 3: We hooked the lapto to a beamer, so that we could directly draw the patterns onto the fabric. Step 4: sewing everything together.
